Knee Slides with Belt

Knee surgery always results in some stiffness and swelling in the knee. This exercise is a great way to help your knee quickly regain its motion and help to circulate the swelling away from the joint.

  1. Sitting as shown, use the belt to passively slide your heel toward your buttock.
  2. When you get to the end of your knee range of motion pull on the belt to provide a good stretch and increase your knee flexion angle.
  3. Hold for 5 seconds and repeat 15 times.
  4. This exercise may feel stiff and somewhat uncomfortable but should not cause any lasting pain.
